Many patients in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf consider travelling to Jordan for dental treatment, especially for implants, zirconia crowns, veneers and a Hollywood smile. The right decision isn't only about price: it's about choosing the right clinic and planning the trip well. In this guide we share what we advise any patient before travelling for treatment, whether they choose our clinic or another. Written under the supervision of Dr. Banan Alhawamdeh.

How to choose a dental clinic before you travel

  • The dentist's specialty and qualifications: ask about the dentist's credentials and experience in the specific treatment you need.
  • Genuine reviews: read the clinic's Google reviews, and look for ones that describe patients' experiences in detail.
  • Real photos of the clinic: real photos of the clinic and team tell you more than stock images.
  • A clear plan before you travel: a good clinic reviews photos of your teeth and gives you an initial plan and expected duration before you book your ticket.
  • Sterilisation and safety: ask about the clinic's sterilisation procedures.
  • Follow-up after you return: ask how the clinic will follow up on your case once you're home.

Warning signs

  • Promises to finish major treatment in a day or two without any prior assessment of your case.
  • A final price before any examination: an exact price needs an assessment, and an approximate cost should come at least after reviewing photos.
  • Ignoring gum health: fitting veneers or zirconia on inflamed gums can shorten the life of the restorations and cause problems later.
  • No follow-up plan after treatment ends.

Questions to ask the clinic before booking

  1. How many days do I need to stay, and how many sessions?
  2. Will I need more than one visit, and how long between visits?
  3. Are X-rays taken at the clinic, or should I bring them?
  4. What's the approximate cost for my case, and how can I pay?
  5. How does follow-up work if I need something after I return?

How many days does each treatment need?

It depends on the treatment and your case. At our clinic, for example, zirconia crowns, veneers and a Hollywood smile usually need about a week, and implants are done over two visits with a healing period in between. The full table is in our guide for visitors from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

What to prepare before you travel

  • A list of your medications and any chronic conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, and tell the dentist during the consultation.
  • Clear photos of your teeth to send before you travel.
  • Previous X-rays if you have them, though they're not essential if the clinic takes X-rays.
  • A spare day at the end of your trip, if you can.

Best time to travel for treatment

Choose a time when you can stay the full duration without rushing. Many of our Gulf patients come during the summer holidays, the mid-year break, Eid and Ramadan. Because these seasons are busy, book early.
